A recent <a href=\"https:\/\/senatedems.com\/irwin\/news\/2022\/01\/05\/irwin-requests-hearing-on-prison-conditions-at-womens-huron-valley-correctional-facility\/?fbclid=IwAR1hSOlpwx_oQd6LxvVeppZv9DgY8-evn3gh2A_8uE9evDJypk7VLczxII4\">memo from Sen. Jeff Irwin<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/document\/d\/1aFMPRGlwdA6HzmyRSd9iwN8ALqklsaJKO4qw7x0V0X4\/edit?fbclid=IwAR3O2JvdIFxPGyxc76DW4RACLYznZ43noFvI5aeC5AK8-i3gpqCfBdrkYnQ\">reporting from Prison Radio<\/a>, and accounts from women held at the facility document reduced access to yard time and rehabilitation programs, overcrowding, lack of access to cleaning and sanitary items, and inadequate COVID protections. These conditions have led to a COVID surge at Huron Valley.
